When asked about our teachers, one parent said:

"This is one of my favorite things about HPP. I always brag that the teachers know the kids so well-individually."

Our Teachers

Denise Turton, Co-Director and Pre-K "Stingray" Teacher

I'm Denise Turton and I am a co-director at Heritage Park Preschool and also teach pre-k.  I have been with Heritage Park Preschool since its opening in 2002.

I have my Bachelors degree in Business Marketing and an Early Childhood Director Certificate.  I am a native of Louisiana and have lived in Steamboat Springs with my husband and daughter since 1998. It is my goal to provide students with an academically stimulating, positive, FUN!, and caring space they can call their own. I am honored to work with so many wonderful families.

Kim Clark-Balgenorth, Co-Director and "Starfish" Teacher

I'm Kim Clark-Balgenorth and I'm happy to be a co-director at HPP and have also been a teacher in the youngest classroom since 2006. I studied Business Management at Mesa State College, then went onto study Early Childhood Education at Colorado Mtn College in Steamboat Springs and received my Early Childhood Director Certificate.

I enjoy spending time with my daughter, walking, hiking, skiing, and scuba diving.

I love being a part of early childhood education! One of my greatest joys is sharing that moment when a child learns how to do something for the first time: Priceless!!!

Jody Kline, "Seahorse" Teacher

My Name is Ms. Jody, and I love being a teacher! I have been teaching at Heritage Park Preschool since 2008 and enjoy working with children at an early age, as we teachers make all professions possible ☺ I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and am currently working toward a degree in Early Childhood Education and my Director Qualification.

When I am not teaching, I’m taking care of my 2 daughters, a dog, a cat, and 2 bunnies. In our spare time, we like to have fun with our family and friends. We enjoy 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, softball, volleyball, hiking, and playing in the river.

I am very excited for another year at Heritage Park Preschool. So much learning and growth happens over the course of a year, what an exciting thing to see and be a part of!

Holly Love-Crocker, "Starfish" Teacher

Hello, I’m Holly and I teach in the starfish classroom. I love working with the little ones… It’s joyful to see how they view and learn about the world around them. I’ve been working at Heritage Park Preschool since 2013and started teaching at the preschool because both of my daughters attended preschool here. It’s a very caring and loving school environment between our students, our wonderful families, and our teachers. We have an outstanding staff that I’m honored to work with, and our children are absolutely amazing!

I have an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from Ohio University, and then I completed the Teacher Licensure program in art education through Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. I received my Master in Arts in secondary education through Adams State College , and also have my Lead Teacher certification through Colorado Mountain College.

My Husband and I have two daughters who are fourteen and eight years old, we’ve been living in Steamboat Springs for sixteen years. We are a pretty adventurous family who enjoys hiking, skiing, camping, and anything having to do with the great outdoors.

Emily Heiner

My Name is Emily Heiner. I grew up in Steamboat Springs and really love the area! I love snowboarding, hiking and traveling in my free time. I have a bachelor’s in Applied Exercise Science from Azusa Pacific University but love working with kiddos so I pursued my lead teacher classes in Early Childhood Education. I can’t wait to get to know you and your kids!
